As beautiful as the snow can be, staying home day after day can get boring fast! Cabin fever has been real for me the past few days and I haven’t even been completely snowed in! I decided to compile a list of activities that are perfect for snow days, so grab a cup of hot chocolate (it’s okay if it’s your third cup today!) and read along for some ideas to beat the snow day blues!
If the temps aren’t too low (today our wind chill was in the negatives… no thanks!) and the roads are clear enough, get a group of friends together to go sledding!
Have an at home spa day! Get out the face masks, nail polish, bath salts, the whole nine yards! During this harsh, cold weather our skin can always use a little extra love, so focus on exfoliating and hydrating!
Satisfy your sweet tooth or try a new dish for dinner! Snow days are the perfect time for testing out new recipes, especially if your pantry is fully stocked. Search Pinterest for yummy desserts to bake and treat yourself. Not only will baking satisfy your sweet tooth, but using the oven will actually heat up your house as well!
You know that book you bought but have never taken the time to read? You know the one! There’s nothing better than cozying up by the fire place and getting lost in a book! Take a break from binging your favorite show on Netflix and pick up that book.
When else will you have time to watch all the Harry Potter movies back to back?! Snow days are perfect for binge watching your favorite movies, just make sure to stock up on popcorn and candy before the snow storm hits!
Search Pinterest for easy DIY projects using materials around your house! A day snowed in at home is perfect for putting those crafting materials to good use!
If you’re like me you don’t need a snow day to do some damage online shopping, but hey! I’ll take any excuse to order things online (I mean who doesn’t like getting mail?!). Check out Poppyanddot.com and use code momentsofsunshine10 for 10% off your purchase!
Deep Cleaning and Organizing
I love love LOVE deep cleaning and organizing! A day feeling productive is a day well spent in my book! Snow days are for rearranging furniture and cleaning out that drawer that seems to collect E V E R Y T H I N G (I know we all have a junk drawer…).
These are just a few ways I love spending cold days snowed in! Leave a comment and let me know how you are spending your snow days this week!
